Except for a few years driving tanks for the US Army, Right of Way work is all Brett has ever known. He began his career with his mother’s company, Property Specialists, Inc. in Las Vegas where she was under contract to provide all of McCarran International Airport’s land acquisition and relocation under their Part 150 Noise Program. Starting as any well-trained family employee would, he was the office coordinator and file-boy.
After many years as a right of way consultant, Brett has became very experienced in acquisition/negotiations, relocation assistance, right of way project management & oversight, demolition and property management and budgeting and costs studies. His career has primarily been based in Nevada and California, keeping things close to his family that is spread out in these areas.
He moved to southern California around 2001 and as a consultant has worked for many local and state municipalities, cities, counties, redevelopment agencies and law firms. He has recently begun his own consulting company, CornerStone Right of Way, which provides expertise to clients that may have difficult and unique projects or situations, often wrapped in a politically sensitive environment.
In 2007 he obtained his SR/WA and R/W-NAC through the IRWA. Brett has relied on the IRWA for its strong networking capabilities, great training programs and certifications as well as the friends he has made over the years.
We look forward to having him on the Professional Development Committee for several more years and as a Chapter member, too!
