Hi, my name is Jan Spindler and I am the Chapter 57 Communications (Newsletter Editor and Webmaster) Chair.

I'm really enjoying the position of webmaster and communications chair. I get to meet a great number of wonderful people, have fun designing and maintaining the website and publishing the newsletters and am looking forward to many years of service with the IRWA and Chapter 57. 

I have received the International Right of Way Association Newsletter of the Year Award for 2006 and the IRWA Region 1 Award for Newsletter of the Year for 2007.  I have also received the Sustained Member Service Award in 2007 and New Member Service Award in 2004.

I have been a member of IRWA Chapter 57 for more than 8 years and have enjoyed the speakers and interaction with members of the right of way profession at each monthly meeting.  Chapter 57 is a very active and exciting chapter! I would eventually like to get qualified as an SR/WA.

I was employed by the County of Riverside for 17 years. I started out as a Clerk Typist for the Transportation Department, worked as a Secretary for Facilities Management and then was promoted to Real Property Agent. I also worked at the Economic Development Agency as a Real Property Agent in the Real Estate Division for a year and a half.  I have been at the City of Riverside for four years and look forward to learning more about my profession and working with a great bunch of people!

I also work as a mobile notary, ride my horse, keep chickens, 3 cats and a dog happy and work on a computer business at home. Needless to say, it keeps me busy.

As a Chapter, we are continually changing and updating. As a result, we have converted the newsletters to email and website access only. The newsletters are archived on the website, so you can read them there or download a copy to read later.

I am always looking for new ideas, so please feel free to call me or email me with comments and suggestions.
