I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from California State University at Northridge with a minor in finance. I worked in bank accounting in various positions as an accounting specialist, accounting manager, and assistant vice-president and controller in a number of small independent commercial banks and savings & loans beginning in 1980 through 1992. In 1992, when the banking crisis was at its peak, I went to work for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (F.D.I.C.) as an accounting specialist. As the banking crisis subsided, I decided to change careers in 1995 and graduated in paralegal/legal assistant studies from Kensington College. In 1996, I went to work for a bankruptcy attorney here in Riverside and when he decided to retire at the end of 2005, I came to work for Best Best & Krieger, LLP in the eminent domain practice group. I joined IRWA Chapter 57 in 2006 and in 2008 and 2009 I served as the co-chair of the Education Committee. At the request of our President in 2010, and with Board Approval, I currently serve as the Chapter's Controller.
"A comptroller, a corruption (15th century) of the word "controller" (a"ccount"ant, "count-roller"), is a person who supervises the quality of accounting and financial reporting of an organization."
